Are You Ready
For More Money?
| If you are
reading this column you are 1) curious 2) ready to start having money or 3) have money and
want more. Have we left anyone out? Having money, by the way, should not be confused with
making more money through employment. In other words, this is not about asking for a
raise, getting a promotion, taking on another job, or winning the lottery. We are going to
help you find the value in keeping and growing the money you make. Does that sound
attractive?! In the
interest of telling it like it is, let's start with this basic premise: spending does not
lead to more wealth. Far too many of us do not value having money. Our minds have been
conditioned to spend practically every dollar we make. Why? To show others that we can
have whatever we want, whenever we want. Some of us feel a sense of relief from a hard
weeks work when we spend our hard-earned dollars. Whoopee do! No one is really
impressed by anothers ability to spend. Envious, yes. Jealous, perhaps. But not
impressed. Whats impressive is your knowledge of investing, the rational choices you
make during up and down markets, your strategy for diversification, your analytical
abilities on fundamental and technical research in essence, your discipline to
build wealth.
Since we know that people
are more impressed by your net worth than by the clothes on your back, the shoes on your
feet, the watch on your wrist, the car in your driveway, and your house on the hill, we
are going to help you INCREASE your net worth. We will not advocate for "get rich
quick" schemes. We will discuss traditional methods of attaining wealth. Why?
Because, like NBC says about TV reruns: "it's new to you," i.e. traditional
methods are still new to those who havent yet tried them. Topics will include:
 | Financial instruments:
Stocks, bonds, mutual funds, REITs |
 | Insurance |
 | Retirement planning, 401Ks
and IRAs |
 | Annuities |
 | Stock options |
We make one promise, with
the hope you will make one too. We promise to discuss issues, strategies, products,
attitudes and people affecting your ability to gain wealth. We hope you will help your
friends, family, colleagues and others you care about talk candidly about money.
Discussing your wealth-building strategies will not expose your "personal
business." Rather, it will show how smart you are. And the knowledge you share with
someone else will come back ten-fold to you and your community.
Thank you for visiting our
column. We will strive to provide you relevant information you can use. But we'll only
know it's useful if we hear from you. Send your questions and comments to Wealth@smartsisters.com |
